6 Sixes in an over & 10 wickets in an innings – A Rare Sensational Feat in the History of Cricket

Taking  six  consecutive sixes in an over  is an exciting  impressive and rare achievement in any form of cricket. It’s a great happiness for a batsman but also the same unluckiness for the bowler. Only four batsman of cricket history Gary Sobers, Ravi Shastri, Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh can achieve  this record.

                                                   Garfield Sobers
Garry Sobers of West Indies in 1968  the first ever batsman to hit six sixes in a single over of six consecutive balls in first-class cricket. Five of the sixes were beautifully clean strikes with the full swing of the bat and last  one six where the ball was caught by Roger Davis but carried over the rope. The record itself was only achieved with an enormous stroke of luck. The unlucky victim of his unchecked aggression was slow left arm bowler Malcolm Nash.

                                                   Ravi Shasthri
Ravi Shasthri the second batsman who hit six sixes in an over  in 1984-85 Ravi Shasthri equalled the record by hitting six sixes in an over in the first class cricket. He was playing for Bombay against Baroda in a West zone Ranji Match. He smashed the six sixes in an over of the left-arm spinner Tilak Raj.
                                                 Herschelle Gibbs
The Elegance, gracefullness, cultivated player Herschelle Gibbs is the third batsman of cricket history and from South Africa is the first batsman to hit six sixes in an over in a One Day International. It also the first six sixes in an over in  cricket World Cup.The unfortunate bowler was Daan van Bunge of Netherlands.

                                                   Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh is the fourth batsman to hit six sixes in an over.He smashed six sixes on 19 September 2007 in the opening T20 World Cup tournament against England. The bowler who became his victim is Stuart Broad. Yuvraj Singh’s feat overshadows everything that has gone before it in breathtaking fashion. The increasingly notable feature of batsman clearing away their front foot and having a free flowing swing of the blade in the shorter form of the game could not have been more superbly illustrated. Impeccable timing, proper cricket shots and hefty, hefty blows shown in his batting.

Taking 10 wicket in an innings is another rare record in the history of cricket only two players international cricket can achieve this record by a English bowler Jim Laker &  Indian spiner Anil Kumble. It is an hardly and impressive record  in cricket history.
                                                     Jim Laker
Laker was the first individual to take all 10 wickets in a Test match innings, ten for 53 in the Australians' second innings of the fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford in 1956. Having also taken nine for 37 in the first innings, Laker's match bowling figures were nineteen for 90. Remarkably, Laker had also taken all ten wickets in an innings for Surrey against the same Australians earlier in the season.

                                                         Anil Kumble
Anil Kumble the second bowler who also take all 10 wickets in an innings. He is a right-arm leg spin  bowler and a right-hand batsman. He achieve this record against Pakistan in  the second Test played  Delh in 1999.His bowling figure is ten for seventy-four run.

  1. Anil Kumble cannot be a called genuine leg spinner as shane warne is much more superior to him. Jim Laker's achievement no indian can achieve even though the pitch is assisting spin in indian spin-friendly pitch. I have seen competition among spinners in India, but no Indian Spinner can achieve more than 10 to 15 wickets even in indian pitches.

    1. First of all I should say that be accurate at your spelling.
Shane warne is the best every one knows ,anil kumble is also a good bowler but not as good as shane warne.
Shane warne has got more wickets than kumble, warne got 1071 wickets totally in all formats of the game and anil kumble has got 1013 wickets . And I should say that shane warne is also the best spinner and bowler in the history of cricket.
If you say that shane warne is not the best so search: for shane warne the biggest spin ever in youtube and shane warne's 8 best deliveries.
