The grand ICC WORLD CUP 2011 opening ceremony celebration



 The grand ICC WORLD CUP 2011 opening ceremony  held on 17th February  evening at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Bangladesh. It was a royal celebration for world cup. It’s an explosive festival of colour, music, dance and unceasing noise signaled the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 which will be jointly held in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India. Amidst flashing strobe lights, fluttery LED kites and a thousand irresistible cheers both in and out of the stadium.
 Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 officially open, thereby checking another box in a long list of achievements for a young nation.“On behalf of the people of Bangladesh, I welcome the World Cup to Bangladesh,” said the Prime Minister. “Many thanks to the ICC and the Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB)for working so hard to make this possible. Cricket lovers and fellow citizens, thank you all for your help, cooperation and understanding,” she said before ceremonially putting her palm to a scanner to declare the World Cup open.
Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) which played host to the brightest opening ceremony in a World Cup of cricket in living memory. But at the end of a thoroughly entertaining night of song and dance, Bangladesh can hold their heads high at managing to put on a show right out of the top drawer. This is truly an event we can be proud of in years to come. For once, things ran almost to schedule and by the time the young artistes Mila, Kona, Elita, Balam, Hridoy Khan, Arnob and Ibrar Tipu got to stage for the welcome song, the stadium was already packed to the rafters with a boisterous crowd who had been lining up for hours.
The World Cup mascot Stumpy arrives on the ground.The grant celebration was starting by a amazing vertical cricket match in a giant  screen by real human players it was charmed  everybody. The airborne cricket match that wowed all and sundry. Acrobats rappelled down the nearby Bangladesh Development Bank Limited (BDDL) Bhaban and played vertical cricket, suspended from ropes and illuminated by LED bats and a virtual ball. The smiles were brought about by the rousing scenes at the stadium during the ceremony. It was a triumph of Bangladeshi culture, with rickshaws bringing in the fourteen captains and LED kites flying about. Bangladesh's proud history was presented beautifully with songs and scenes depicting the Language Movement of 1952 and the 1971 Liberation War.
The cultural program of INDIA start by the beautiful English song of world cup by the famous Bolywood singer Sonu Nigam . INDIA shown there traditional cultures as Panjabi dance & songs, kasmiri dance & song, Behari  dance & song. De Ghuma Ke “The official Song” of this World Cup 2011, composed by famed trio of Bollywood Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy,This song also  harmonic in 3 different languages Hindi, Bangla and Sinhala. The modern bollywood dance also shown in the stage.
Then the cultural program of SRILANKA  start. The beautiful lady come out inside a oyster & perform a nice cultural dance. A traditional ship with lion head come in the stage and round the stage. They also came with colorful mask & flages. Three famous singer of Srilanka sing song.
At last the cultural program of Bangladesh stared. The three legendary singer  of Bangladesh SABINA YEASMIN,RUNA LILA & MOMTAZ sung  Bengali songs. The tribal  monopuri, chakma & marma dance are shown in stage. The bangle cultural work making pots by mud with chorka(rotational wheel).The history of bangle liberation war & national flower shown in there performance. Bengali cultural program “Pohela Boishak “ also showed in there performance.  
After that, it was over to the able hands of Canadian singer Bryan Adams. The pop legend regaled with his timeless “Summer of 69'', “18 till I die” and aptly “Let's make a night to remember” and had the crowd rejoicing at the celebrated numbers. The show ended on a high with the Indian trio of Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy ringing out the theme song of the World Cup 'De Ghumaa Ke' in all three languages of the host countries: Bangla, Hindi and Sinhalese.
The opening ceremony  come down with a crescendo of fireworks and all attention will now focus on the opening match of the tournament on Saturday, February 19, between India and Bangladesh. Let us see if the Bangla Tigers can repeat their 2007 upset.
